Tiare Festival Week happens every year in November. The town is decorated with tropical flowers and a new Miss Tiare is chosen, with several public appearances by the competing girls. Local businesses join the fun by competing for the most beautifully decorated workplace.

The Punanga Nui Cultural Market in Avarua takes place every Saturday morning from 6am til noon, where you can buy food and souvenirs to the sounds of traditional island music.
