Avarua (Uptown)

The CICC Church is in uptown Avarua. The Cook Islanders love to go to church and their singing is fantastic. There are many churches on the Island: whatever your denomination, you will find a suitable church on Rarotonga. The service in CICC is conducted mostly in Maori-English, but is easy to follow. After service the local mama´s provide coffee and tea and welcome visitors.

On Sundays most shops are closed except "Oasis" station by the airport and "Wigmores" at Titikaveka, although most resorts serve food and drink throughout the weekend.
